ASCEND

ASCEND is two-year exploratory program designed to support the successful transition of incoming freshmen into academia and their pursuit of a future career in tech. The subsequent section provides a brief overview of the program’s benefits and eligibility requirements. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please review the information below:

  • ASCEND is open to all freshmen pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science, information science, statistics, and data science.
  • Student who successfully complete the program’s mandated criteria will obtain a $2,000 maximum financial award each academic year for their successful completion of the program’s mandated criteria.
  • ASCEND applications for our next cohort will open August 2025.
  • Prospective students are strongly encouraged to submit their questions to our Cornell Bowers CIS Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team at dei-office@cis.cornell.edu.
